Job Overview
Lead and manage security operations across designated sites, ensuring service delivery, contract efficiency and compliance with Mitie and Sainsbury’s standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and promote the Mitie brand by delivering industry‑leading security services.
* Maximise contract efficiency and sustainability by integrating people, systems and technology.
* Manage a portfolio of non‑trading sites, ensuring coverage by fully trained officers.
* Deliver training, coaching and performance management for all security personnel.
* Provide operational cover for the designated “buddy” Security Operations Manager during absences.
* Conduct regular site visits, building relationships with store management and frontline staff.
* Ensure all officers comply with Mitie policies, legal obligations and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain accurate Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments and annual reviews.
* Investigate incidents, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
* Support Sainsbury’s QHSE initiatives and related legislation.
* Recruit, succession‑plan and develop a high‑performing team of security officers.
* Participate in Sainsbury’s weekend duty manager rota and related responsibilities.
* Lead formal disciplinary processes and manage related investigations.
* Use the workplace+ system for KPI, licensing and legal compliance.
* Uphold Mitie values and culture, promoting workplace community.
* Ensure delivery of indemnity and welfare obligations for officers.
Person Specification
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
* Professional approach with polished appearance.
* Proven customer‑service experience.
* Strong understanding of SLAs and ability to develop action plans.
* Experienced in business improvement planning.
* Hiring experience compliant with BS7858 standards.
* Current frontline SIA licence (training may be provided).
* Knowledge of physical security technologies (access control, CCTV, alarms).
* Analytical, statistical and numeracy skills.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
* Excellent verbal and written communication.
* Adaptable to changing demands, capable of working independently or in a team.
