The Opportunity:
We are now expanding aggressively in the UK retail sector and are seeking an ambitious Sales Representative to lead this growth.
This is a hybrid office-and-field-based B2B sales role, focused exclusively on winning and developing high-volume accounts with large supermarket chains and discount retailers across the UK and Ireland. You will replicate the proven success we’ve achieved with major European retailers, within Germany, where our hygiene portfolio is a trusted staple in stores nationwide.
You’ll benefit from direct support from our experienced head office team in Germany, who already manage relationships with big-name supermarket chains and can provide insights, best practices, pricing strategies, product data, and even joint customer approaches when needed. This is a rare chance to bring established European retail expertise into the UK market and build a high-performing territory from the ground up.
This role suits a proven retail sales hunter who thrives on winning listings with household-name buyers, negotiating national agreements, and driving repeat, high-volume business in a fast-moving FMCG-style environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Target and win new business with leading UK & Ireland retail chains (e.g. Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons, Co-op, Home Bargains, and similar groups).
* Leverage support from our German head office retail team to accelerate wins - drawing on their existing relationships, category insights, and proven approaches with comparable European chains.
* Build strong relationships with category buyers, procurement, hygiene & facilities managers, and store operations teams.
* Present and sell our high-demand retail hygiene range: nitrile/latex gloves, clinical & general waste sacks (pedal bin, swing-top, refuse), paper hygiene products (toilet tissue, hand towels, centre-feed, jumbo rolls), disposable aprons, heavy-duty bin liners, cleaning cloths, and related consumables that meet strict retail compliance, cost-in-use, and sustainability demands.
* Arrange and conduct in-person meetings, site visits, product demonstrations, and trials at stores, regional depots, and head offices to showcase quality, reliability, and commercial benefits.
* Negotiate pricing, volume deals, listings, promotions, and supply agreements to secure shelf space and grow share.
* Manage the complete sales cycle: prospecting, pitching, onboarding, first orders, and ongoing account development.
* Track pipeline, meetings, and performance weekly, with full visibility and support from the wider European team.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven B2B sales track record selling into major UK & Ireland supermarket chains (Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Home Bargains, etc.) - essential.
* Solid understanding of retail buying cycles, category management, tender processes, and what drives decisions for hygiene/non-food buyers in supermarkets.
* Confident, professional communicator - equally strong on calls, in face-to-face meetings, and presenting to senior stakeholders.
* Proactive, resilient, and commercially astute with a true hunter mindset and high energy.
* Organised, self-motivated, and comfortable managing a diary that mixes office days in Gainsborough with regular travel for customer meetings and site visits.
* Full UK driving licence.
(Experience in hygiene, cleaning, paper products, PPE, or FMCG consumables is essential - additional full product training and ongoing support from our German retail specialists provided.)
