Transport Team Leader
We are recruiting for a permanent Transport Team Leader to work in the operations at Primark Midlands. As a Team Leader you will motivate, encourage, guide, and manage team members to meet KPI's and performance requirements.
1. Shift Pattern working any 5 from 7 NIGHTS, with working hours between 22:00-06:00
How will you contribute?
2. Daily running of the Transport operation.
3. Ensuring completion of all administrative and legislative tasks required to maintain performance of the operation.
4. To liaise with other departments to avoid delayed departures and/or deliveries.
5. Clear communicated to the relevant area, should there be operational delays.
6. Ensure Operational security requirements are adhered to. vehicle keys, phones, fuel cards.
7. Collation and input of statistical information for various reports.
8. Engage directly with customer service to provide updates in relation to deliveries.
9. Management of tachograph records for allocated driver team.
10. Promote good driver behaviours utilising tools including Mix telematics for allocated driver team.
11. Providing leadership and motivation for the admin team and driver team, including regular 121’s, career plan discussions and succession planning.
12. Conducting investigations within a timely manner
13. Conducting accident investigations within a timely manner
14. Assist with the management of vehicle defects through the VOR process.
15. Actively be involved in the recruitment, training and coaching of all admin and driver colleagues.
16. Management of the sickness absence process, including accurate record keeping and RTW interviews.
17. Support the site with any ad hoc administrative tasks that are required.
18. To work between both locations in the Midland Campus.
What will you bring?
19. Attention to detail is key for this role as is the accuracy of information supplied.
20. Experience within a transport/busy operational environment is desirable.
21. Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
22. Well organised with the ability to prioritise tasks as required.
23. Excellent communicator at all levels.
24. Understanding of drivers working time directive and EU regulations.
25. A positive and flexible attitude to work being reliable and punctual.
26. Comfortable working in a pressurised environment and to tight deadline and on your own initiative.
27. Excellent computer skills are critical to this role specifically MS Office applications such as Word and Excel and knowledge of Distribution/Transport Systems would be advantageous.
