My client is a forward-thinking engineering organisation delivering innovative power solutions across the UK. With a diverse portfolio of high-value projects - from private network developments and microgrids to hydrogen and battery storage schemes - they're driving progress for DNOs, NHS, airports, and major commercial clients.
They're now seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale HV/EHV substation projects from pre-construction to energisation. This is a brilliant opportunity to work on grid connections at 11kV-132kV, with full project lifecycle ownership.
What you'll be doing:
Managing end-to-end delivery of transmission and distribution voltage projects
Coordinating pre-construction, design, procurement, and on-site construction activities
Leading feasibility studies, testing, commissioning, and energisation of substations
Overseeing budgets, resources, and commercial contracts for engineering-led projects
Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and CDM regulations
Producing detailed project plans using MS Excel and/or MS Project
What we're looking for:
HNC (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, plus 5+ years' relevant experience
Proven track record delivering complex HV/EHV substation projects
Strong technical knowledge of substations, cables, civils and overhead line design
Project management experience in engineering-focused environments
Professional, clear communicator with strong numerical and planning skills
Willing to gain or already hold a project management qualification (e.g. APM, PRINCE2)
Full, valid UK driving licence
