Are you passionate about using research and engagement to create healthier, more active communities?
Do you thrive on building partnerships and driving change that makes a real difference in people's lives?
Do you have the skills and experience to turn insight into action and help shape a more active future for North East Lincolnshire?
Our Purpose
North East Lincolnshire Council (NELC) is seeking a dynamic and motivated Research and Engagement Adviser to join our team. This role is part of the Sport England, Physical Activity, and National Evaluation and Learning Partnership (NELP) project, aimed at enhancing physical activity and community engagement across North East Lincolnshire.
The Role
You will work within the Council's Insights team, alongside the programme development manager, Leisure & Tourism, and Public Health colleagues to forge impactful partnerships and advance North East Lincolnshire Council's sport and physical activity strategy. Your efforts will span various organisations and sectors, ensuring the programme's success. Our mission? To boost physical activity and reduce inactivity among North East Lincolnshire residents, with a focus on people who may need more support to be active, aligning resources to priority locations and groups where it can have the most impact. Every day is a chance to make a difference in the community.
You will play a pivotal role as the face of the place expansion programme locally. Your approach to relationship building, understanding needs and barriers with a wide variety of local partners will be key. This will see you collaborating closely with colleagues across community engagement, ensuring the public's voice is heard as part of the programme's development.
About You
We're seeking a confident and capable individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills, who can build meaningful relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. You'll bring hands-on experience in community engagement, research, and project management, along with a solid understanding of place-based approaches and whole-system working. Your ability to connect with people, understand local needs, and translate insight into action will be key to your success. You should also have experience in developing and applying evaluation and learning frameworks, helping us to track progress, learn from what works, and continuously improve. If you're someone who enjoys working collaboratively to create positive change, we'd love to hear from you.
