Overview

This role is based on our secondary site in Leyland. Salary up to £53,835 + excellent benefits.


What you’ll do

You’ll be working with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You’ll help them learn, develop their abilities and raise their self-esteem. You will need to be resilient and dedicated, but the huge small victories you achieve will be something you’re really proud of. As a Teacher at Witherslack Group, you’ll receive support from in‑house psychologists, teaching assistants and therapy professionals. Your colleagues will be highly skilled, the school environments well‑resourced, and we will be with you every step of the way to help you build a rewarding teaching career.

One of the best environments in SEND

Westmorland School are proud of Wood campus, based in Leyland, their secondary site catering primarily for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Speech, Language and Communication needs. The school provides education for up to 40 pupils aged 11 to 16 on a purpose-built site with a full curriculum, including a farm, land based studies and Forest School. This exceptional rural setting supports pupils to progress in a relaxing and nurturing environment, and we aim to tailor each pupil’s educational experience to their needs.
