Lead Windows Server Administrator (IT)
Location: Southampton, office based
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 17:30pm
Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience

Purpose of the role;
Leads administration of technology by contributing expertise in researching new technologies and proposing cost effective solutions. Facilitates team discussions and plans and contributes innovative suggestions within area of discipline.
Key Duties & Responsibilities;
Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance of Garmins windows server computing systems
Windows Azure Local Hypervisor deployment and troubleshooting experience
Performs and evaluates costs analyses and vendor comparisons form small through large scale projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations
Measures feasibility of various approaches and makes recommendations
Continuously develop technical subject matter expertise on established and emerging server, storage, email, file, and collaboration systems and other server based technologies.
Communicate effectively regarding system operations and environment changes
Adhere to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements as dictated
Understands and avoids capacity, redundancy, and health constraints of server, storage, email, file, and collaboration systems
Ensures that all security requirements are met or exceeded
Provides significant contributions to defining team roadmap and priorities
Develops reliable solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
Demonstrates broad understanding of Garmin's business model, including Engineering, Operations, Finance, Sales and Marketing
Serves as a mentor and provides guidance to less experienced IT Administrators (IT Administrator 1, 2, & 3)
Researches new technologies and proposes cost effective solutions
Leads major incident troubleshooting involving multiple disciplines
Provides innovation within area of expertise
Facilitates team discussions and meetings
Recognized as an expert in assigned discipline at Garmin and applies extensive technical expertise and analysis to initiatives
Contributes input to broader technology solutions outside of discipline
Serves as a leader of change
Demonstrates professional maturity through giving and receiving constructive feedback
Conflict is addressed effectively without appreciable oversight
Coordinates department level non-project changes
On Call Rota (managed between the team)
Ability to work non-core hours to complete essential maintenance and project work (TOIL)
Education & Experience required;
Degree and/or experience within a related field
Demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge
Ability to author and implement basic scripting and coding to automate technical needs such as to move files, backup, create configuration, or other tasks
Demonstrated ability to implement new technologies effectively
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a small team setting
Consistently demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organization
Desirable qualifications;
Experience with one or more of the following
Citrix
VMware
Thycotic
SCCM/MECM
Exchange
Zabbix or other enterprise monitoring systems
Working in an Agile team environment
