EC&I Commissioning Engineer – Capenhurst | 12-Month Contract | Inside IR35 We’re working with a growing engineering consultancy supporting critical infrastructure projects in the nuclear sector. They’re looking for an EC&I Commissioning Engineer with proven high-voltage electrical commissioning experience to join their team on site at Capenhurst. This role is all about HV systems—switchgear, transformers, protection schemes—and the safe, structured commissioning of complex electrical infrastructure in a regulated environment. What you’ll be doing Leading commissioning of high-voltage electrical systems from pre-energisation through to handover. Reviewing HV designs, test documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety case requirements. Troubleshooting and resolving issues during installation and commissioning phases. Working closely with design, construction, and operations teams to deliver integrated, compliant systems.What you’ll need Background in Electrical or EC&I Engineering. Strong track record in HV commissioning—switchgear, transformers, protection systems. Solid understanding of UK/IEC standards and safety-critical environments. Experience in nuclear, power generation, or other regulated sectors.
