Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd are seeking a Civils biased Project Manager with experience in Access and Enabling Works, for a large-scale Overhead Lines Project in the Scottish Highlands.
You will have substantial experience of working within multi-million-pound projects to deliver safely, on-time and within budget.
This role is site based in Alness, Inverness, supporting our client SSE.

Are you an established Overhead Lines (OHL) project manager seeking a new challenge? Join us at the forefront of delivering critical electrical infrastructure. As an existing Civils Project Manager, you will be joining our ever-growing business. You will ideally be from a civils/construction industry background, ideally with experience in tendering and delivering large scale projects
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will oversee project management and delivery, ensuring safety, financial compliance, and timeliness. Your role will involve upholding high standards in project execution, aligning with both T&D and client objectives. You will ideally possess a strong history of leading project teams on civils projects through all phases of design, construction, commission and close out. Essential skills include programme / project management, planning and expertise in managing the design requirements and commercial budgets. Familiarity with transmission operator (TO) technical standards and policies is also preferable.

Expected:
7. Engineering qualification (Degree / HND / HNC) or equivalent industry track record
8. Recognised SHE qualification (., IOSH, NEBOSH)
9. Project management qualification
10. Strong commercial and contractual awareness
11. Ability to lead and build project teams, and proactively resolve site issues
12. Willingness to work away from home regularly and for prolonged periods
13. Experience with SSE, SPEN or National Grid Transmission Operators is preferable
14. Knowledge of Local Authority permit requirements and NEC Forms of Contract
15. Experience managing design requirements for the civils element of large-scale projects, including commercial budgets.
16. Understanding of engineering principles, CDM, and client technical standards, policies, procedures, and safety rules
17. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
18. Financial and commercial understanding
19. Full UK driving licence
