Job title: Lead Registered Veterinary Nurse

Location: Village Vets Longstanton, Cambridgeshire

Job type: Permanent

Salary: From £33,526 per annum

Hours: Full time, average 42 hours per week Monday-Friday with 1:3 Saturday mornings 8am - 12:30pm

Fantastic opportunity for an RVN to join an established community focused practice in North Cambridgeshire!

The Role:

Village Vets Longstanton has a real community focus and an established team including 2 FTE Vets, 3 nurses and a dedicated client care team. The practice benefits from being an air conditioned, purpose built and well-equipped primary care practice. Facilities include, dental x-ray, digital radiography, ultrasound, multi-parameter monitoring, three consult rooms and one theatre. We are proud to have silver cat friendly status, offering a separate waiting area for cats. On-site parking is available for both staff and clients.

Patient care is a real focus at Longstanton, the team have great flexibility to adapt each day around the needs to each patient and the team share a close bond with clients. We encourage developing each individual team members specific interests, with some of the existing team having interests in behaviour, weight clinics, dentistry and nurse consults which are actively encouraged. If you have your own interests, we love to explore how these can be supported! Longstanton itself a beautiful village situation just off the A14 and M11, north of Cambridge, offering great links to Cambridge, Huntingdon and Newmarket. We are looking for a team player who is confident in their nursing abilities and who at times can support the veterinary team independently.

A Village Vet nursing role includes a wide breadth of nursing duties, incorporating the management of complex medical and surgical patients, provision of perioperative care, assisting with the provision of anaesthesia and schedule III procedures, as well as supporting the patient journey from admission to discharge. We also support our clients with regular (and busy!) nurse clinics. Our vets are amazing, many of them are certificate holders and some are advanced practitioners too. Our veterinary surgeons appreciate and respect the nursing team, valuing their professionalism and input.

We pride ourselves on learning and evidence-based progression and support this with a generous CPD budget and regular training events.
