We provide Residential, Nursing, Respite, and Dementia care for 38 residents, and we also support an on-site Nursery, providing meals for up to 70 children. We’re looking for a talented Chef to join our kitchen team, supporting the Head Chef to create seasonal menus and leading our team in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. Contract details: £13.52 per hour 40 hours per week, daytime shifts – no unsociable late nights 5.6 weeks annual leave (full-time) Pension scheme Free uniform & paid PVG Free onsite parking The role As Chef, your cooking will do more than fill plates it will bring comfort, nourishment, and joy. Working alongside the Head Chef, you will: Support the creation of seasonal, nutritious menus for residents and children. Lead the kitchen team day-to-day, ensuring smooth operations and high standards of hygiene. Mentor and develop trainee chefs and kitchen assistants. Prepare and serve meals to meet dietary requirements, including IDDSI and specialist diets (training provided). Manage stock, maintain kitchen organisation, and uphold health & safety standards. Opportunity to work in a supportive, fast-paced kitchen serving both residents and children. Team development – help mentor trainee chefs and kitchen assistants. What we’re looking for A relevant culinary qualification or equivalent experience. Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and understanding of food safety. Strong team leadership skills, with a passion for developing others. Experience in a care or hospitality kitchen is beneficial but not essential. Knowledge of IDDSI and dietary requirements is an advantage (training will be provided).
