Are you an experienced Walk In Centre Practitioner / Minor Illness Practitioner looking to join a forward thinking and supportive GP Team?
We are recruiting another Practitioner to join our team for 2 days (16 hours) per week .
Hours/days: Wednesday and Friday 08:30 - 17:30 or 09:00 - 18:00 with an hour for lunch.
Salary: This post will be top Band 6 / mid Band 7, depending on experience and qualifications.
Main duties of the job
Duties of the Minor Illness Clinician will include:
Assessing and deciding the treatment plan for acute minor illness presentations such as
1. Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
2. Respiratory tract infections (URTI/LRTI)
3. Sore throats
4. Ear symptoms
b. Develop, implement and embed health promotion and well-being programmes
c. Provide a triage service, actively managing or referring patients or treating patients within own scope of practice
d. Provide routine nursing care to patients as required in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and the NSF
e. Provide wound care (ulcer /Doppler etc.) to patients
f. Request pathology services as necessary, processing and interpreting results as required
g. Refer patients directly to other services as appropriate
h. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with extant legislation
i. Ensure read codes are used effectively
j. Prioritise health issues and intervene appropriately
k. Support the team in dealing with clinical emergencies

We are made up of 2 sites, one in Topsham and a branch site at Countess Wear.
The 2 sites are spacious with a variety of consulting and administration rooms with a pharmacy based at the Glasshouse site.
We care for over 11,700 patients across a large practice boundary from Middlemoor and St Leonards to Lympstone in the South and Aylesbeare in the East.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
9. Registered Paramedic or Nurse or Pharmacist
10. Minor illness / injury qualification or equivalent experience
