Join Anglian Water's Strategic Pipeline Alliance as a Lead Civil Engineer. Location: Flexible/Hybrid work from Peterborough office and home Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about contributing to one of the UK’s most ambitious water infrastructure projects? The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) is searching for a Lead Civil Engineer to support and enhance our project delivery team. What will you be doing as our new Lead Civil Engineer? As a Lead Civil Engineer, you will provide technical direction to the engineers in your discipline for clean water infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects. You will provide design support for numerous schemes and ensure all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards. The Lead Civil Engineer will collaborate with key stakeholders and assist the multi-disciplinary project design teams to ensure the selected solution is providing best value for business through being fit for purpose and being completed on time, to budget, and to the correct quality. Key responsibilities: Check specifications, calculations, datasheets, drawings and 3D models to ensure quality and technical standards are adhered to whilst being focussed on the health, safety, buildability and operability aspects of all designs. Collaborate with the Discipline Lead and the Design Managers to achieve project milestones and design review dates. Review construction site and supply chain design queries and change requests to produce timely and accurate responses whilst ensuring that the design remains suitable. Support other leads and discipline engineers to deliver their engineering outputs on time and to quality standards Ensure designs comply with all statutory civil, and water industry, standards and regulations. Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary project team. A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours: This job might be for you if you have: Degree in a civil engineering discipline or be able to demonstrate a degree level of knowledge through relevant experience. Chartered status or equivalent. Demonstrate an appropriate level of competence in practical civil design experience in the water industry environment. Experience of mentoring and coaching of less experienced engineers. Active engagement with improving health, safety and welfare in line with Safer Every Day.
