Read on Reward and Benefits: · £36,000 to 42,000 (depending on experience) · 25 days annual leave, death in service and private health care benefits, personal pension contributions of 4% with salary sacrifice and a generous EMI Share scheme Based in Abingdon, Oxford, UK, we are a high calibre team of 100 plus people and we are growing fast. We are backed by global financial and industry investors including Applied Ventures, the strategic venture arm of the industry leading equipment company. About the role: A typical day for a Data Scientist in our team looks like this: · Writing code to process raw images and produce quantification algorithms that turn raw numbers into metrics that are meaningful for our customers. · Working with our R&D team to consolidate early proof-of-concepts into solid prototypes. · Contributing to the design, prototyping, testing, and integration of automated image processing and data science components into our production pipelines. Who we are looking for: To succeed as a Data Scientist, we do need you to have experience of: · Proficiency coding in Python, with experience in libraries for computer vision and signal analysis · Experience in traditional computer vision and image analysis methods (e.g. segmentation, filtering, model fitting, etc.) · Understanding of software development best practices, e.g. clean code, CI/CD Nice to have: · Experience in deep learning methods for image processing and signal analysis · Experience in working with datasets produced by microscopy tools, in particular electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. Education / Qualifications: · Master’s degree in STEM or higher, or BSc with a clear equivalent path through relevant apprenticeship or accumulated experience.
