We established Centres of Excellence to bring together the expertise we now have. This role leads the Rail, Logistics and Transport work stream. In addition to building and developing our services for the Rail, Logistics and Transport, you will also be responsible for reviewing our clinical standards and ensuring we deliver high quality clinical services.

Role Summary
The Sector Lead role is integral to developing and delivering the very best clinical services for our OH Centre of Excellence.
You will work with your senior colleagues, clients across the business sector to understand their health risks, innovate and deliver high quality services to meet their needs. You will help to develop the practitioner sector specific knowledge and skills needed to provide best in class services for our clients. And through the Clinical Governance Committee and Sector Governance Forum you will ensure that clinical practice meets the highest standards.
This role provides scope for the further development of someone already in a senior role such as a Clinical Lead or Clinical Performance Management.
Your time will be divided between clinical lead activity for an individual client and wider Sector Lead activity for all clients. Time for the latter will be strictly ringfenced. Your non-Sector Lead days will be revenue generating, either through funded Clinical Lead work or actual clinical delivery.
The main reporting line is to the Associate Director, but you will also be accountable to the Senior Medical Director for the Sector Lead activity. Your time as Sector Lead is ring fenced. You will be an essential part of the Centre of Excellence Leadership Team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
With the SMD provide clinical leadership for your Centre of Excellence:
1. Work with the SMD to establish an effective cross functional clinical governance forum for your sector to oversee clinical standards and quality.
2. Work with the Associate Director and SMD, and relevant CPM's to understand and prioritise the health risks in the sector.
3. Develop, refine, and deliver OH services to meet these risks for customers within agreed performance targets, contribute to policy development.
4. Lead and support by coaching the practitioners who deliver on the contract.
Work with your SMD and SCL colleagues to deliver quality OH services across Optima.
5. Work with the SMD and CPM's to ensure high quality OH services for the Centre of clinical excellence.
6. Be an active contributor to the Sectors Leadership Team, taking accountability for the delivery of defined targets and objectives and being responsible as part of the Leadership Team for delivery of the Sectors Business Plan overall.
7. Liaise with the other SCL's to ensure a co-ordinated and consistent approach to the maintenance, monitoring and enhancement of professional standards.
8. Represent Optima Health effectively at all levels within client organisations and the wider industry as required, promoting Optima Health and enhancing its reputation.
9. Act as a role model for the ‘one team' approach, working with other clinical teams and internal stakeholders to ensure clinical risks and issues are managed effectively, providing proactive support to colleagues as required.
10. Demonstrate your personal commitment to the Optima Values.
11. Ensure understanding of Quality Policy & ensure compliance with all aspects of the Quality Management system.
Provide commercial support to your Centre of Excellence
12. Work with Business Development to attract new business and support Client Service in retaining current customers.
13. Support the SMD in participation at the quarterly Strategic Sector Business Task Force by working up intelligence on
14. Clinical patterns, risks and challenges for the sector
15. Identify best practices among clients.
16. Provide an update on the External state of the nation.
17. Input health Data for network groups that you participate in.
18. Work with transitions to ensure our teams are fully ready for new customers and services.
19. Support the Clinical Performance Managers to optimise the efficient delivery of the service. (Quality and Productivity)
Experience, skills and knowledge required for the role
* A pragmatic approach to solving problems, excellent task management skills.
* An Occupational Health qualification is essential, as well as registration with the NMC.
* Experience working within a safety critical environment.
* Substantial experience in a senior clinical role.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills including negotiating and influencing skills and maintaining customer relationships.
* Sound understanding of the role and commitment to clinical governance.
* Strong commercial and business awareness.
* IT literate in the range of IT platforms used in OH.
* Willingness to travel as required by the business Desirable Criteria
