Job Overview
The successful post holder will work as part of our team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy assistants, providing therapy and rehabilitation under the direction of a qualified therapist. The position will be on our acute ward bases and may require working at any site across both Trusts.
We are looking for applicants who are dedicated yet flexible and can adapt quickly to new situations.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary therapy team to assist with the delivery of therapy.
* Implement planned interventions within the hospital or appropriate community setting, including simple environmental assessments and prescription of simple equipment when within competence, and practice of specific therapeutic interventions/techniques.
* Communicate effectively with community services to support safe, effective discharge planning.
* Assist therapists with administrative duties associated with service delivery.
* Support and rehabilitate patients to enable a safe return home or placement in a safe environment with continued care.
* Work collaboratively with discharge liaison and patient flow teams to improve integrated discharge pathways.
* Confidently implement the prescribed therapy plan, including mobility and functional interventions, to enable people to leave hospital.
Working Hours
This is a permanent full‑time (37.5 hours per week) position. Applications are also welcomed from individuals seeking fewer hours.
Disclosure and Barring Checks (DBS)
New applicants who require DBS clearance will pay the cost for the DBS certificate via salary deduction from their first month’s pay. The DBS check will be undertaken during pre‑employment screening.
All new employees will be subject to a satisfactory 6‑month probationary period, unless exempt as specified.
