Role: Medical Laboratories Risk and Health & Safety Manager
Salary: Up to £70,000
Location: London – HCA Laboratories, Shropshire House
Hours: 37.5 (Full-time) Permanent
A leading private pathology Lab in Central London is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratories (Pathology) Risk and Health & Safety Manager to join their governance team.
Requirements:
* Significant experience in risk management and laboratory health & safety
* IOSH or NEBOSH qualification (essential)
* Strong knowledge of ISO15190 and ISO22367 standards
* Awareness of ISO15189 and understanding of CQC and UKAS frameworks
* HCPC registration (desirable)
Main Duties:
* Act as the lead for risk, incident management, and health & safety across all HCA Laboratory sites
* Deputise for the Head of Governance as required
* Support and guide the laboratory teams on quality governance and safety compliance
* Manage the laboratory risk registers and ensure issues are escalated appropriately
* Lead on serious incident reviews and facilitate learning across departments
* Monitor compliance with national legislation and internal governance standards
* Provide safety training and ensure policies are embedded across the organisation
* Support the delivery of the CQC assurance framework and inspection readiness
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain service resilience and continuity planning
* Ensure health, safety, and wellbeing policies are implemented and regularly reviewed
* Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies to support inspections and accreditations
