Mechanical Estates Officer (Band 7)

Contract Type: 6-month Contract
Pay: £33 per hour (via umbrella)
We are assisting a London NHS Trust with the recruitment of an experienced Mechanical Estates Officer (Band 7) on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be a highly capable Mechanical Engineer with strong operational estates experience, ideally within an NHS or similarly complex environment.
Key responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate the Mechanical trades staff in delivering reactive and planned maintenance.
• Support development and implementation of Estates policies and safe systems aligned to HTMs.
• Participate in compliance governance processes and ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare, interpret and act upon technical reports, inspections and audits.
• Coordinate specialist engineering works outside normal hours when required.
• Provide technical advice across Estates and Capital Projects.
• Maintain accurate CAFM records, work logs and statutory documentation.
• Support strong communication, leadership and staff motivation within the Estates team.
Qualifications:
• Recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship.
• Degree-level Mechanical qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience:
• Strong experience maintaining complex mechanical building services.
• Knowledge of HTM/HBN guidance.
• Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven track record in PPM planning, compliance and safe systems of work.
• Familiarity with capital project support.
