Job Overview
The Perinatal Parent Infant Mental Health Service is a Trust-wide multi-disciplinary mental health provision working with pregnant and postnatal women experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated nurse who is an experienced practitioner in the field of mental health, and who has experience and/or a strong interest in Perinatal Mental Health to join our well established service.
Responsibilities
* Conduct initial assessments and reviews of pregnant service-users in the antenatal and post-natal period.
* Manage a caseload of women within a clinic setting and undertake some home visiting.
* Collaborate with systems such as Mother and Baby Units, Maternity Services, Universal services, Children’s Social Care and Secondary Mental Health Services (including family and carers and crisis services).
* Work within a multidisciplinary team consisting of Perinatal Consultant Psychiatrists, experienced Psychotherapists, Perinatal Community Mental Health Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Nursery Nurses, specialist pharmacy, and excellent team administrators.
Qualifications and Experience
Dynamic, enthusiastic, and motivated nurse with experience as a mental health practitioner and a strong interest in Perinatal Mental Health.
Employment Details
Probationary Period: This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
Starting with NELFT: NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement: This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of basic salary, with a minimum of £4,551 and maximum of £5,735, pro rata for part time staff.
