Responsibilities
 * Support the team overseeing the commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors, helping maximise returns on our budget and demonstrate value for money.
 * Set up and manage pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and develop long‑term collaborative partnership arrangements that deliver for both us and society.
 * Provide country‑wide support to Integrated Delivery Management teams and the wider Project Management community, championing effective governance and commercial assurance.
 * Develop excellent relationships internally and externally and become an expert on contractual and commercial interpretations within a high‑performing team.
 * Undertake training and participate in incident response duties when required.
Qualifications
 * A‑Level or equivalent Level 3 qualification.
 * Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
 * Stakeholder management experience.
 * Strong data and document management skills.
 * Commercial acumen – ability to understand, analyse business situations, take proportionate risks, make informed decisions and deliver the most advantageous solution.
 * Administration skills – strong organisation, ability to write minutes and draft reports.
 * Willingness to pursue professional qualifications (e.g. NEC training, CIPS) and interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
Desired Education / Professional Requirements
 * Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
 * Progress towards status with a recognised professional body such as ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS or RICS.
 * Formal training in contract management (e.g. NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
Additional Information
The role is full‑time and located in the UK. It requires travel across the country, occasional overnight stays, and hybrid working arrangements. The position is not eligible for sponsorship.
