Responsibilities
* Identify and manage the risks to the client through the equipment on site, including identifying critical spares, improving performance of plant and equipment, managing the site environment through the BMS system, running all plant and equipment efficiently, and improving and implementing the preventative maintenance programme.
* Use new equipment and technologies to maintain a working and comfortable environment, liaising with the client on any requests for reactive and Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks.
* Fault find all types of HVAC plant and equipment, with a bias to Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) air‑conditioning systems, while working with refrigerant and possessing the required F‑Gas handling qualifications.
* Support other members of the team in relation to Health & Safety.
* Act as an Energy Champion and support the site’s Safety Champion role.
* Provide electrical and mechanical expertise to the maintenance team.
* Write and follow risk assessments, and be prepared to question any issues that arise from them safely and accurately.
* Complete the required documentation in accordance with all rules and legislation.
* Use mobile devices to accurately project and complete any works from the CAFM Maintenance System.
* Use email and calendar systems to plan daily work requirements, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
* Liaise with the on‑site supervisor and account manager to manage any building services related issues, responding confidently and accurately.
* Assume responsibility for the team when required and deputise for the site supervisor during annual leave or sickness.
* Work overtime as and when the business requires, which may include nights and weekends without always being notified in advance.
* Perform ad‑hoc duties as and when required.
* Supervise and manage subcontractors.
* Participate on an on‑call rota for emergency call‑out purposes outside normal working hours.
Qualifications
* Recognised or time‑served apprenticeship.
* Strong proven experience in HVAC maintenance.
* Mechanical competencies or qualifications to an acceptable standard recognized by City & Guilds.
* Good multi‑skilled ability.
* Ability to fault find.
* Ability to supervise contractors.
* Able to complete risk assessments and method statements.
* Able to understand and write permits and safe systems of work.
* F‑Gas safe handling and use of refrigerants.
Desirable Skills
* Working at height qualification.
* IPAF / PASMA certification.
* AP qualifications.
* BMS system experience.
