Job Summary / Purpose
To support individuals referred to secondary mental health services for assessment or ongoing care. To demonstrate the Trust values of inspiring hope, working together, caring and compassion, valuing and respecting others and ourselves, and being open and honest.
As a Registered Mental Health Nurse you will live the NMC values identified in the Code of Practice. You will work with individuals using evidence-based interventions to promote independence and recovery while maintaining high quality clinical documentation. You will respect the individuality, values, cultures and religious diversity of clients and colleagues and contribute to a service sensitive to these needs.
Responsibilities
* Promote positive mental and physical health to individuals under the care of the service.
* Support individuals to collaborate in the development of their recovery plans and structured care plans and treatment, working to build a strong therapeutic alliance.
* Assess, plan and review in line with the Care Act (2014) and section 117 of the Mental Health Act (1983).
* Provide clinical supervision to members of the multidisciplinary team based on clinical and professional knowledge.
* Supervise junior staff in clinical risk assessment and formulation of crisis and risk planning.
* Promote recovery-focused care and interventions for individuals.
* Ensure all interactions and documentation is person-centred in line with NHS guidance (No decision about me, without me).
* Co-produce individualised recovery plans with the individual, carer and others identified by the Service User.
* Promote and maintain a learning culture within the team, supporting the professional and effectiveness of clinical care.
* Contribute to the delivery of multidisciplinary training including induction of new staff, students and trainees.
* Act as an effective and empowered role model for others sharing knowledge base and clinical skills.
