Overview

Assistant Network Manager (Permanent) - Outwood Academy Hasland Hall, Newbold and City

Hours: 14.5 hrs p/wk, Thursday 08:00 – 16:00 and Friday 08:00 – 15:30. 21.5 hrs can be considered. Contract: Year round. Salary banding: Grade 9, Step 22-25.

About The Role

Do you have significant technical expertise and leadership potential to coordinate ICT operations across multiple academy sites? Are you ready to step up into a management support role, ensuring the delivery of digital services to enhance teaching and learning? This post involves assisting the Network Manager with managing the ICT provision and coordinating the team of ICT technicians across three to four academies.

Responsibilities

* The Assistant Manager supports the Network Manager by coordinating the technician team and providing third-line support across multiple academies.
* Ensure hardware and software deployment aligns with the Trust’s strategic vision.
* Collaborate with the core ICT team to develop an effective, resilient, and scalable LAN and design efficient support processes.
* Ensure data security and adherence to data handling policies (refer data breaches to the Network Manager).
* Ensure backup and disaster recovery procedures are tested and fit for purpose.
* Assist with contributing to capital plans and monitoring risk assessments and staff H&S training related to ICT.

Qualifications

Essential technical experience includes installation and management of Windows Servers, Group Policy creation, and network setup (firewalls, VLANs, routing). Experience managing virtual infrastructure and backup/disaster recovery implementation/testing is essential.

Essential skills include effective written and verbal communication, ability to respect confidentiality, and strong planning and organisational skills, including appropriate delegation. Desirable experience includes IP telephony installation and wireless management. Candidates must be willing and able to enhance their qualifications.
