About You
You are a highly motivated, qualified engineer with strong industry‑level skills, experience, and expertise. You hold an engineering qualification with a focus on workshop skills and are passionate about applying your knowledge to inspire and develop the next generation of engineers. Your practical experience and technical proficiency enable you to deliver high‑quality teaching that reflects current industry standards and best practices.
About the Role
This role is central to sustaining and developing the Engineering department’s advanced manufacturing and hydraulics provision. The candidate will contribute to ongoing curriculum development, apprenticeship delivery, and the growth of study programmes, playing a key role in multiple initiatives.

Role Responsibilities
* Lesson planning and delivery – prepare and deliver engaging, practical, and theory‑based lessons aligned with the curriculum (e.g., IMI or City & Guilds standards).
* Adapt teaching for different learning styles and abilities.
* Student monitoring and support – track progress, attendance, provide academic support, mentoring, and pastoral care.
* Workshop management and health & safety oversight – ensure a safe, clean, well‑equipped environment; carry out risk assessments and enforce regulations.
* Curriculum development and assessment – develop learning materials, assignments, and assessments; mark student work and give constructive feedback.
* Industry liaison and employer engagement – maintain relationships with employers, arrange placements, apprenticeships, and site visits; keep the programme relevant to current industry practices.
* Programme administration and quality assurance – maintain accurate records; participate in internal quality assurance and contribute to audits and inspections.
Qualifications
* Level 4 or above in Engineering
* L5 Teaching qualification or willing to work towards
* L3 assessors or willing to work towards
* L3 IQA or willing to work towards
* L2 or above in English and Maths
Essential Skills & Experience
* Minimum 2 years industry experience
* Level 4 or above in Engineering
* L5 Teaching qualification or willing to work towards
Desirable Skills & Experience (Optional)
* Knowledge of automation and robotics
