Job Description
As a Business Analyst Team Leader, you will manage a team of 3–4 Business Analysts located across multiple sites. You’ll mentor, support, and onboard team members, serve as an escalation point for internal queries, and collaborate with external suppliers to deliver robust IT solutions. This role requires excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and proactive leadership.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 09.00-17.00 (Hybrid working)
This role could be based from one of our Midlands sites with occasion travel between sites required.
1. Lead and mentor a small team of Business Analysts.
2. Act as the escalation point for business issues and queries.
3. Manage task allocation, prioritization, and progression.
4. Use Service Desk systems to maintain SLAs and conduct root cause analysis as needed.
5. Deliver high levels of customer service.
6. Liaise with business stakeholders and IT leadership to provide project and issue updates.
7. Ensure team compliance with Group IT policies and procedures.
8. Plan and execute project activities for new client implementations, site launches, application enhancements, and upgrades.
9. Conduct business and system analysis, design, development, and testing for warehouse management, transport management, and EDI integration systems.
10. Produce proposal and design documents for peer review, analyzing both business and technical enhancement requests.
11. Collaborate with internal and external technical and business contacts.
12. Identify operational needs, recommend improvements, and specify user/system interfaces.
13. Document all work using required standards, methods, and tools, including prototyping where appropriate.
14. Adhere to project management and approval processes, and assist in risk identification and assessment.
15. Lead IT workstreams during UAT, supporting colleagues and clients to ensure deadlines are met.
16. Demonstrate proactive time management and meet deadlines.
17. Build strong relationships through effective communication.
Qualifications
18. Full UK driving license.
19. Clear and effective communicator, bridging business users and IT.
20. Experience developing business systems (Finance, Warehouse, Transport Management, ERP).
21. Strong management, interpersonal, and team skills.
22. Proven experience across the full project lifecycle: requirements gathering, documentation, testing, UAT, change management, and live implementation.
23. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
24. BCS or equivalent Business Analysis qualification (desirable, not essential).
25. Previous team management experience.
