Please note that this is a field-based role. Candidates must be based in the East or South of England.
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for recruiting, developing, and leading a team of veterinary business managers to implement company strategy and deliver key business objectives across a geographical sales region.
The RSM is responsible for achieving sales growth targets within the VET-business, reaching all quantitative and qualitative targets with maximum ROI in a challenging and ever-changing business environment. They must meet commercial targets while upholding the Mars five principles and the vision of Royal Canin.
The RSM will manage, develop, and motivate a performance-driven sales team through excellent leadership, ensuring individual and team goals are achieved. This includes overseeing processes and workflows to ensure efficiency and accurate forecasting of future demands.
As part of our commitment to development, the role holder will be responsible for ongoing development, in-field coaching, engagement, talent identification, and succession planning of the sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Direct line management of Veterinary Business Managers (VBMs)
* Leading a sales team aligned with Royal Canin's strategies and values
* Coaching the sales team to develop skills and meet targets
* Upholding good account management and sales principles
* Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
* Managing administrative tasks such as expenses and leave
* Conducting regular reviews with VBMs to monitor KPIs and implement performance improvements
* Developing comprehensive annual Personal Development Plans for each VBM
* Maintaining positive team engagement
* Conducting quarterly and annual appraisals in line with PDP and business goals
Collaborating with the Pet Professional team to execute business strategies, negotiate agreements, analyze market and customer needs, control merchandising strategies, and set sales targets. Additionally, providing timely reports, assisting in KPI setting, and delivering sales training.
Effective recruitment and onboarding of new VBMs in accordance with Mars five principles. Working closely with other departments such as Key Accounts, Pro Team, Retail, and Nutrition 360 to ensure business objectives are achieved.
Enhancing Royal Canin's recommendation rate, physical availability/distribution, and scientific image within clinics to support the goal of "reaching more pets." Creating and developing new sales opportunities within existing or new customers.
