EBD Teaching Assistant
A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced EBD Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and forward-thinking school in Newport. The school provides tailored education for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, as well as a range of additional needs including cognitive and physical challenges.
As an EBD Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. You’ll support the class teacher with daily routines, assist in preparing classroom resources, and deliver one-to-one or small group support to students. Your focus will be on helping learners manage their behaviour and engage positively with the curriculum.

Requirements
The ideal EBD Teaching Assistant will have:
1. Experience supporting children or young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
2. An understanding of Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
3. Confidence in de-escalating challenging behaviour and building positive relationships
4. A team-oriented mindset and a flexible, proactive attitude
