Job Details This role is in support of Cencora's global logistics and storage services marketed through our World Courier business. Role Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Export Clerk to join our Night Shift team within the Exports Department. This role involves 40 hours per week on one of the following shift patterns: Monday-Friday, Tuesday-Saturday, or Sunday-Thursday, from 7:00 PM to 3:00 AM, with occasional overtime required. The position focuses on managing all aspects of daily export operations for pharmaceutical and temperature-controlled shipments, from job creation through to their arrival at destination. This includes booking air freight, submitting export declarations via CDS, processing shipments, preparing shipments for export (labelling and documentation), and liaising with external and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations. Key Responsibilities Export Operations: Perform all elements of the air export function, including booking air freight, creating and submitting export declarations (EU and non-EU shipments) via CDS/NCTS, and preparing shipments for final export (labelling and processing). Prepare and book Airway Bills, ensuring flight details are accurate. Process specialist exports through government-regulated bodies such as The Home Office, CITES, DEFRA, The Chamber of Commerce, and HMRC. Systems and Communication: Operate and utilise internal and external IT systems, including Transport Management System (TMS), FileBound, JetStream, Op-STAR, and SharePoint. Maintain external communication with service providers and internal communication across the World Courier network and UK departments. Monitor and respond to A/S messages and prepare post-flight and internal TMS reports. Documentation and Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to internal procedures, including SOPs and Ops memos, for export operations. Verify dangerous goods notes and freight charges applied to shipments. Support customs entries and declarations through CDS. Warehouse Support: Assist with shipment handling, including loading/unloading freight, dry ice replenishment, gel pack replacement, marking, and labelling. Exposure to active unit handling and forklift operations (training provided if necessary). Team Collaboration: Provide guidance to junior staff and support senior staff as required. Work collaboratively within the team to meet deadlines and ensure operational efficiency.. Skills and Experience Essential: Proven export background, ideally with road export/customs experience. Proficiency in air export functions and the Customs Declaration System (CDS). Strong understanding of air freight tariffs, charges, and customer service. Excellent interpersonal and computer skills, including proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks independently, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. Exceptional organisational and time management skills. Desirable: Experience with active unit handling. Forklift training. Dangerous Goods by Air qualification. X-ray/ETD/EDD training. Background in pharma or temperature-controlled shipments. Personal Attributes Dependable, reliable, and trustworthy.
