Critical Shift Engineer - DC Environment
£51,500 + £3000 AP allowance
A leading global facilities management provider are looking to recruit a number of Critical Shift Engineer's for a high-profile data centre site near Chertsey. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer with a background in critical environments to join a stable, well-supported team in a role offering long-term development and clear progression. You'll be part of a strong shift team working across a continental shift pattern providing 24/7 site coverage broken up into days and night shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems including HV/LV, UPS, generators, CRAC units, AHUs, and BMS controls.
Work to industry-leading standards in a critical environment, ensuring uptime is maintained and SLAs are met.
Support site-based projects, installations, and upgrades, providing input and technical expertise.
Ensure compliance with all site-specific processes, health & safety policies, and maintenance protocols.
Provide accurate documentation and handovers across shifts. Requirements:
Time-served Engineer with relevant City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical discipline.
Previous experience in critical environments – ideally data centres, banking, or healthcare.
Good working knowledge of UPS, generators, BMS, fire alarms, and cooling systems.
Strong communicator, proactive attitude, and comfortable working in a team-based, shift environment
