Job Description:
Community Use is the team that works hard to ensure most of the Halls, Community Centres and Schools in Fife are available for everyone to enjoy learning, leisure, life, and cultural events. We deliver a diverse programme of inclusive pursuits including physical activity & sport, performing arts, arts & crafts, cookery, modern languages, and vocational training. We also provide space for meetings, celebrations, and community events in both modern and historical buildings.
Based at Templehall Community Centre, you will report to the Community Use Lead Officer and oversee daily operations across facilities in Kirkcaldy, Kinghorn, and Burntisland. Your responsibilities include managing a team of caretakers/cleaners, ensuring buildings are clean, operational, and compliant with safety regulations, and meeting program and service user demands.
You will collaborate with the Community Use Lead Officer and local Community Education Worker to support Management Committees managing community buildings. Your role includes providing guidance, advice, and support to enhance community resilience, participation, and opportunities.
You will engage with customers and user groups to ensure positive service experiences and contribute to the achievement of strategic priorities outlined in relevant plans and strategies.
The standard working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with possible evening or weekend work, for which you will receive an enhanced pay rate (+0.33%).
You may be contacted in emergencies at community facilities. A driving license is not essential, but travel to facilities will be expected, with expenses reimbursed for travel beyond your initial commute.
