Graphic Designer

Salary: £34,000 per annum, plus company benefits

Location: Leeds, LS10 1AB

Contract: Full Time, 12 month Fixed Term contract

Shifts: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 7am until 4pm with 1 hours unpaid lunch break

Work model: Hybrid

Williams Lea seeks a Graphic Designer to join our team!

Purpose of role

The Graphic Designer role develops creative and effective design solutions for customer materials through both print and digital media.

Key responsibilities

1. Conceptualise and produce online and offline collateral for marketing and sales, including original campaigns, direct mail, brochures, print and banner ads, product sheets, PowerPoint presentations and more.
2. Work closely with clients and/or project management teams to understand the client’s business needs.
3. Formulate forward-thinking concepts and render designs for multimedia campaigns while always elevating our client’s brand
4. Responsible for the design and production of a diverse range of graphic, print, and digital media collateral to support client needs.
5. Develop comprehensive multimedia campaigns.
6. Identify fresh and innovative design solutions that push the boundaries of the client brand and explore more effective formats and/or media channels.
7. Understand the restrictions and limitations of the designs deliverable process and manage client expectations (where appropriate).

9. Responsible for ensuring brand consistency while offering a fresh approach to design, artwork, digital and print output.
10. Provide effective visual solutions by executing client creative requests and creative projects.
11. Ensure that all work is visually appealing and created to specification
12. Ensure that all work produced is to a suitably high standard and within brand guidelines and specifications.
13. Performs Quality Assurance on own and work of others.
14. Interact with clients in person, over the phone or electronically.
15. Adhere to Williams Lea policies in addition to client site policies.
16. Use equipment and supplies in a cost-efficient manner.

Personal attributes

17. Bachelor’s degree in Digital Arts/Graphic Design (or other related field) or equivalent years of experience.
18. 2-4 years of relevant work experience in the graphic design industry.
19. Excellent design knowledge and application.
20. Exceptional visual trouble shooting skills.
21. Ability to storyboard, comp visual ideas within the creative process.
22. Conceptual creative and production skills with a good understanding of layout principles, aesthetic design concepts and typography.
23. Experience creating campaigns and extending the look and feel through various marketing materials.
24. Able to complete tasks within tight schedules and under strict layout controls.
25. Strong verbal communication skills; dependable, detail-oriented, and well organized.
26. Strong presentation skills.
27. Proven skills in the latest Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office, including Power Point
28. Web design experience is a plus.
29. Experience working in both in an agency and/or corporate environment preferred.
30. Motivated, organized, and flexible.
31. Must be able to meet deadlines and complete all projects in a timely manner.
32. Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information.
33. Able to make independent decisions that conform to business needs and policy.
34. Good problem-solving skills, with the ability and understanding of when to escalate a problem to a supervisory level.
35. Must work well in a team environment.
36. Must be able to interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
37. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
