Position Overview
Care Assistant (Nights) – 36‑hour contract, £12.80 per hour plus a 10% hourly enhancement for night and weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing person‑centred personal care to clients, respecting individual choices.
* Providing additional care and support when a client is unwell or approaching end of life.
* Acting as a key worker for a number of clients.
* Using personal knowledge and experience to support nurses in writing and reviewing care plans.
* Documenting care given, recording any changes, and reporting these to the person in charge of the shift.
* Providing support and advice to residents’ families and friends, keeping them informed at an appropriate level while respecting confidentiality.
* Working with the Activities Team to develop group and 1:1 activities that engage residents.
* Liaising with other agencies (e.g., GP, Social Services, Occupational Therapist) as required in the interest of the resident.
Required Qualifications and Attributes
* NVQ/QCF Level 2 or equivalent in Health & Social Care is desirable but not essential.
* Good communication skills and a strong team‑working attitude.
* Reliability, commitment, and a natural affinity for working with older people.
* A drive to provide person‑centred care and to uphold residents’ dignity.

Location
Brendoncare Knightwood – a 20‑bed residential home that offers personalised care and supports residents to live as independently as possible.
Additional Information
The role is based on a 36‑hour contract with the option for shift enhancement on nights and weekends. Free meals on shift and paid breaks are provided. The foundation is a not‑for‑profit provider committed to supporting staff through training and employee support services.
