Express Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a respected local charity with the appointment of a compassionate and people-focused Fundraising Officer. This is a rare and rewarding opportunity to join a friendly, mission-led team supporting individuals giving in memory of loved ones or leaving legacy donations.
The successful candidate will become a key point of contact for bereaved families, legacy pledgers and external partners across the local area. This role would suit someone from a customer service background who communicates with empathy and professionalism and is now seeking a purpose-driven role in the charity sector.
This is a long-term opportunity with future progression potential, working closely with a highly experienced manager ahead of their planned retirement in the coming years. The role is offered on a 3 day per week basis and 16 hours (with the preferred days being Monday, Thursday and Friday), with a salary of £26k FTE and all mileage allowances provided, due to the travelling required, it is essential that a candidate has access to their own vehicle. Candidates will either be working in the field or in the office with no home working offered.
* Build long-term relationships with supporters and legacy pledgers through phone calls, emails and in-person meetings
* Deliver and support memorial campaigns and donor events
* Represent the charity at meetings with local funeral directors, solicitors and community groups
* Update internal CRM records, coordinate event logistics and maintain supporter communications
* Support income reporting and provide cover for senior colleagues where needed
Skills & Experience:
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a calm, compassionate approach
* Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
* Background in customer service, events or fundraising preferred
* Confidence dealing with sensitive or emotional situations
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
