Job Description Control of work ticket system between engineering and technician teams to ensure jobs are staffed promptly and effectively. This also requires exposure of labour to different areas of the Component & Systems business to promote skill diversity. Assists team members in interpreting and completing tasks. Conducts reviews with Engineering team as required. Helps to prioritise and hand over work between shifts. Motivate and mentor team members to achieve and exceed departmental goals. Promote a can-do attitude and a positive working environment. Conduct Objective Setting and Mid-Year Reviews for the technician team. Facilitate/support to ensure update of all SQCDP data relevant to the technician team. Control of Workplace Inspections relevant to the technician team ensuring tasks are completed on time and follow up actions are closed out. Leads aspects of laboratory maintenance and repair. Works with Site Services on issues surrounding laboratory maintenance or repairs. Highlight, report and rectify safety issues in the laboratory. Approve working hours (timesheets), and holiday requests for the technician team. Continue and improve initiatives to reduce waste and optimize efficiency. Assisting technician team in procurement and ordering of consumables. Reporting to and supporting the Senior Manager Component & Systems Leyland. Collaboration with other Laboratory Supervisors both in Leyland and Bedford sites to develop best practices and awareness of Health & Safety and Quality issues. Act in accordance with the behaviours for UTAC staff at all times. Skills Good communication and interpersonal skills, approachable. Detail and quality focused. High level of IT literacy, particularly Word & Excel. Experience Proven supervision experience. Experience in automotive and/or testing background.
