Overview
To work within the Radiotherapy department under the Therapeutic Radiographer Apprenticeship programme, committing to train as a therapeutic radiographer meeting the clinical and academic requirements of the course. The apprenticeship will run in conjunction with a higher education faculty (e.g. Sheffield Hallam University) and attendance of training is essential so annual leave must be arranged outside these sessions. The post holder will work alongside the multidisciplinary team whilst they train to be a therapeutic radiographer under the supervision of a registered practitioner. There will be 20% protected study time (equivalent to 1 day per week).
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship the post holder will gain a BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic radiography and will be eligible to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Therapeutic Radiographer. Please note sponsorship is not eligible for this post.

Key responsibilities
* Work within the Radiotherapy department as part of the Therapeutic Radiographer Apprenticeship programme under supervision of a registered practitioner.
* Commit to training to be a therapeutic radiographer, meeting the clinical and academic requirements of the course.
* Work shifts as required by the department.
* Participate in 20% protected study time (1 day per week) alongside departmental duties.
Training requirements and conditions
* The apprenticeship runs with a higher education faculty (e.g. Sheffield Hallam University); attendance of training is essential and annual leave must be arranged outside these sessions.
* Post holder must be prepared to undertake formal and informal study and training required to fulfil the needs of the post.
* Successful applicants will provide an immunisation and vaccination report from their UK occupational health provider or GP.

* HCPC registration is eligible upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
