MCS Group is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of innovative, world-leading sensor products. In this role, you will work within a global engineering team, collaborating with cross-functional colleagues and customers to design, develop and launch high-performance products used by leading automotive manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development of sensor products from concept through to production launch, including CAD design, prototyping, testing and validation
* Work directly with customers to understand technical requirements and define project plans
* Collaborate with suppliers to define specifications and ensure on-time delivery and quality standards
* Partner with global engineering, manufacturing and test teams to optimise designs for manufacturing, assembly and cost
* Support validation activities with test labs and production lines during product launch
* Contribute to change management and continuous improvement across existing product ranges
The successful candidate
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with a number of years experience in a manufacturing environment
* Strong experience using 3D CAD tools and producing 2D engineering drawings
* Excellent problem-solving, research and teamwork skills
* Experience in the automotive industry is desirable
