We have an exciting opportunity for a senior Support Worker to join our friendly and experienced specialist brain injury and neurological care service in Newmains, Wishaw.
We provide individualised assessment and intensive rehabilitation to help people recover from a brain injury. At all times we work to achieve the best possible outcomes in terms of independence and quality of life.
Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre provides specialist care for up to 46 residents at any one time.
We have a minibus for appointments and some fun outings and a state-of-the-art therapy pool, which allows our residents to focus on re-gaining cognitive abilities that may have been lost. A specially designed therapy kitchen allows users to learn new skills that will serve them long after they have left our care. We are extremely proud to be accredited as an approved provider of specialist Brain Injury Care by the Headway Brain Injury Association.
Full time hours
Effectively lead the shift by ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained at all times.
Supporting their care plans to establish routine
Ensure that all service users have up-to-date risk assessments and person centered plans in place and review and update as required with the service manager
Ensure the client feels safe, and stable within their day to day care
Personal Care*
Responsible for attending and completing all mandatory training.
Support service users with physical disabilities using trained techniques and aids e.g. hoists, wheelchairs, modified bathing equipment
Strong organisational, time management, planning and communication skills.
Flexible, professional, and positive approach to multi-site working.
Level 3 NVQ or QCF Diploma in Health & Social Care or be willing to work towards.
Driving License would be preferable
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
