Forklift Truck Operative (Counterbalance)
Location: Wincanton, Somerset
Hourly Rate: £12.73 per hour (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm shifts), £18.50 per hour (10pm–6am shift)
Annual Salary (Once Permanent): £30,400 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts:
• 6:00am – 2:00pm
• 2:00pm – 10:00pm
• 10:00pm – 6:00am
Contract Type: Temp to Perm
Start Date: Immediate
We are currently recruiting for a Forklift Truck Operative to join a well-established warehouse team in Wincanton. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with a clear path to a £30,400 PA salary upon successful completion of the probationary period.
Key Responsibilities
* Safely operate a counterbalance forklift truck to load, unload and relocate stock
* Perform daily checks and basic maintenance on equipment
* Support with goods-in and dispatch operations
* Maintain accurate records of inventory movements
* Organise stock efficiently and follow warehouse layout plans
* Assist with general warehouse duties such as packing, picking, and cleaning
* Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times
Candidate Requirements
* Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (Reach Truck an advantage)
* Previous experience in a similar warehouse or production role
* Strong attention to detail and work ethic
* Able to work three rotating shifts and occasional Saturdays
* Physically fit and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
