Job Title\: Principal Quality Engineer - Assurance Location: Barrow-in-Furness - Fulltime onsite Salary: From £42,215 (DOE) Who we are: Join BAE Systems and you’ll be part of something bigger. Job Description: You will be responsible for investigating quality issues across the business, including screening concerns, deciding next steps, and undertaking investigations. Your role involves conducting interviews and on‑site reviews, facilitating root cause analysis workshops, and supporting issues through to resolution. You will work both independently and as part of a team, mentoring colleagues through the investigation process and using your stakeholder management and communication skills to drive effective outcomes. Core duties: Conducting quality investigations; including collating and analysing evidence, conducting interviews, Root Cause Analysis, Human Factor Analysis Generating corrective/preventative actions to prevent future occurrence Writing and verbally communicating investigation findings for a range of audiences Building a good rapport whilst working with internal and external customers to determine their requirements and communicate findings in a timely manner Assessing and understanding the application of Quality Management System documentation (e.g. Process Maps, Workmanship Standards, etc ) Essential Skills: Previous investigation experience, including problem-solving and root cause analysis Experience in enhancing management activities and improving processes and associated documentation Ability to produce investigation reports to the required standards Proficient with Microsoft Office (including Visio) The Quality Investigation Team: This is a varied role offering good potential for future growth within a supportive, close‑knit team.
