Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Head Chef to lead the kitchen at a well-established, independent pub known for its diverse offering, fresh food, and vibrant atmosphere. The business caters to a wide range of customers, including regular dining, seasonal trade, and private functions, requiring strong leadership and excellent organisational skills. Key Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day management of the kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient operations Lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen team, maintaining high standards at all times Design, implement, and update menus twice yearly, focusing on fresh, high-quality dishes Plan and execute food offerings for a variety of functions and events Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships, including negotiating costs Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations Adapt kitchen operations in line with seasonal and weather-dependent demand Maintain strong cost control, including GP margins and waste management Ideal Candidate Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef ready to step up Strong leadership and team management skills Experience working in a fresh food, high-volume pub or similar environment Commercially aware with experience in cost control and supplier negotiation Creative approach to menu development Highly organised, particularly with planning for events and functions Flexible and able to manage varying demand levels Whats on Offer Competitive salary of £40K£45K depending on experience Opportunity to lead a kitchen within a respected independent business Creative input into menu development and kitchen direction Supportive working environment with autonomy in your role If youre a passionate and experienced chef looking for your next leadership role within a dynamic and growing venue, this is an excellent opportunity to make your mark.
