About Us: Established in 1994, Merridale has been at the forefront of designing and manufacturing fuel pumps, fuel management systems, tank gauges, and ancillary equipment. Our products are trusted by over 5,000 sites across the UK, Ireland, Channel Islands, and the Netherlands, facilitating the refuelling of up to 400,000 vehicles daily.
The Role:
As a Sales Engineer, you will:
* Engage with a diverse range of commercial customers, including public sector entities and large supermarket chains.
* Demonstrate and sell our comprehensive range of Merridale products and services.
* Conduct site surveys and prepare tailored quotations and proposals.
* Generate new sales enquiries and expand existing opportunities, focusing on driving new business in 2025.
* Manage projects from initial enquiry through to completion, maintaining detailed customer information in our CRM system.
* Attend trade shows and represent Merridale at industry events.

* Competitive starting salary of between £33,000 and £34,500, with performance-related bonuses targeting an annual salary of approximately £42,000, with potential for more based on exceptional performance.

* 25 days of paid holiday plus statutory public holidays.
* Note: Flexibility in working hours is expected, with core hours from 8:30 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, and availability outside of these hours as required.
About You:
* Strong background in a targeted sales environment, preferably in engineering sales with exposure to similar industries.
* Technical knowledge is advantageous; however, comprehensive training will be provided.
* Proactive self-starter with a technical mind and a desire to excel.
* Confident and persuasive communicator, comfortable conducting business and demonstrations both over the phone and face-to-face.
* Physically capable of nationwide travel and holding a clean driving license.
* Strong IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, adhering to company guidelines.
