Location: Jenner Close, Verwood BH31 7QE
* £12.86-£13.08 per hour
* Shifts - Monday - Friday 09:30-16:00 (8:15-17:15 if covering Passenger Assistant duties)

About The Role
Care Dorset is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person to provide support for adults at Verwood Connect Day Centre.
We are looking for enthusiastic, committed individuals looking for meaningful work that makes a real impact to the lives of people in the local community. You will be supporting person centred activities for people with varying abilities. Activities currently include art, cooking, music, reminiscence, trips out in the community, quizzes and games and many more.
Responsibilities And Accountabilities
* Be able to make quick decisions and be familiar with the risk assessment process.
* Be flexible and adaptable in your approach to ensure our service meets the need of the people we support.
* Create positive and fun environments for the activities you support. You will be part of an established team and will have other support staff working alongside you.
* Provide a degree of personal care and one to one support as required.
* Experience of working with people with a disability is desirable but a friendly, caring attitude with a willingness to learn is equally important in this fulfilling role which makes a difference to people's lives.
About You
Suitable candidates will take a genuine interest in the needs and wishes of people, support them to make and communicate their choices, and to become as independent as possible. Due to the importance of sharing information effectively, the successful applicant will possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Preferable Level 2 in Health & Social Care (not essential)
* Preferable experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities (not essential)
* It would be beneficial if you have a valid driver's licence and have access to a vehicle you could use for business purposes.

This post will cover for colleague absences, possibly 2 or more days per week depending on service needs and availability.
