HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family courts and tribunals in England and Wales along with non-devolved tribunals in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Joining us is a chance to play a pivotal role in the smooth running of our courts, which give people and businesses access to potentially life-changing justice.

The key purpose of the role is to Be responsible for the monitoring and progression of all criminal cases identified for case management from first appearance to disposal, ensuring that Trials proceed to completion without delay.

Work with others to achieve a reduction in ineffective and cracked trials both nationally and locally to meet national targets.

The Case Progression Officer will also monitor effective trial rates to ensure that Court Room utilisation targets are met and improved.

Demonstrate use of Lean TIBs, SOPs and other continuous improvement tools.

Further details: Cardiff Crown Court is a very busy court centre, overseeing Newport Crown Court and Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court.

The Courts work in conjunction with each other and other agencies to deliver Justice across Southeast Wales You will fit well within the department as a confident, committed, and diligent individual.

You are keen to provide support to others as part of a team, develop your skills and ability, and work well in a challenging, yet rewarding environment.

You will provide vital support to the Listing Officers and to your Case Progression team members to ensure that hearings are ready.

You will liaise with the Judiciary, Prosecution and Defence, other service users and colleagues in the delivery of Justice daily.

Your role will allow you to be part of an experienced and enthusiastic team.

* Cardiff Crown Court, The Law Courts, Cathays Park, Cardiff CF10 3PG New recruits to the Civil Service joining MoJ are expected to join at the band minimum.

These operational roles are customer facing, requiring successful applicants to be office based to provide HMCTS services to the public.

Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week.

HMCTS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs and are agreed prior to appointment.

This is a business-critical role requiring full time hours.
