Senior Consultant, Supply Chain and Operations – UK
Responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant, you’ll balance internal and external responsibilities, comprising client, business development support, operational and personal development.
Focus on our clients
* Build, maintain and strengthen relationships and be a trusted advisor in at least one form of supply chain (operations, planning, procurement, manufacturing, etc.)
* Contribute/lead a workstream within a project and manage activities to complete deliverables within your remit
* Actively contribute to a core project team, often working with others from different parts of EY’s world
Support our business
* Contribute to the development of proposals to showcase leading practices
* Engage the market with thought leadership and public profile, and contribute to enhancing methodologies
* Work across internal sector and account field teams to develop your network, bringing commercial and procurement expertise to bear
Support operational excellence
* Support successful delivery of projects by managing work products and contributions as forecast to time and budget
* Ensure the quality of delivery exceeds client expectations by effectively managing activities within your remit
Personal and people development
* Maintain a personal development program to continually enhance technical and consulting skills
* Grow people leadership experience through leading client and internal teams
Experience
Typically, Senior Consultants bring practical experience from either a professional services or industry background where they have developed commercial and procurement experience. Their experience will be valued across several sectors, with a key focus on Consumer Products & Retail, Energy & Resources, Government & Infrastructure, Health & Life Sciences, Private & National, and Telecommunication, Media & Entertainment.
Senior Consultants should possess experience in at least one of the following technical skill areas and exposure to others:
* Supply Chain Strategy
o Operating Model design, segmentation strategy, and inventory optimisation. Understanding the issues across the end‑to‑end supply chain and potential solutions to improve performance.
* Supply Chain Transformation
o Experience in significant supply chain transformation projects with scope and scale. Demonstrable knowledge of design, setup and delivery, including people, process and technology change.
* Digital Supply Chain
o Applying or implementing next‑generation supply chain technologies such as robotic process automation, cognitive automation and AI, IoT, blockchain and big data analytics.
* Supply Chain Analytics
o Developing detailed supply chain analytics to deliver enhanced end‑to‑end SC visibility (e.g., creating and connecting supply chain models to customer and pricing analytics).
* Supply Chain Planning Functional
o Demand and supply planning, sales & operations planning, segmentation strategy, inventory optimisation, and/or production scheduling.
* Supply Chain Planning with Technology
o Knowledge of OMP, Kinaxis, o9, Aera, SAP IBP, Blue Yonder, and SAP S/4 HANA.
* Logistics
o Network design and modelling; understanding of global customs and trade; warehouse design and optimisation; 3PL/4PL or control tower management.
* Manufacturing
o Manufacturing optimisation at plant level and holistic network optimisation.
* Procurement
o Strategic, operational, or transactional procurement across the buying lifecycle, including procurement strategy, operating model, category management, strategic sourcing or deployment of procurement data, technology and analytics; experience deploying SAP Ariba.
* Service and Asset Management Transformation
o Knowledge of end‑to‑end asset management lifecycle, including field force, service and asset management transformation, budgeting, sourcing, warehousing and logistics, inventory management, repairs, disposals and asset accounting processes.
Qualifications
Senior Consultants should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be proactive and energetic self‑starters, and possess innovative qualities that enable high quality work delivered often in relatively short timeframes. Professional body memberships or qualifications such as CIPS, IACCM or equivalent are favorable but not mandatory.
