About Copsey Engineering
Copsey Engineering is a well-established precision engineering company producing high-tolerance components across a wide range of materials for sectors including aerospace, defence, motorsport, marine, automotive and medical. We are a small, close-knit team with a strong focus on quality, craftsmanship and reliability.
The Role
We’re looking for a highly capable CNC Turner with strong Mazatrol experience to join our late shift team. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced machinist who can work independently from engineering drawings, programme and set their own jobs, and take real ownership of quality and output.
This is a role for an ambitious, hands-on CNC Turner who takes pride in their work and has the drive to grow. Alongside programming, setting and running jobs independently, the position offers the opportunity over time to take on greater responsibility supporting the Manufacturing Manager, helping guide less experienced operators, and developing into a broader production and leadership role as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
*
Programme, set and operate CNC lathes using Mazatrol
*
Work from engineering drawings to produce precision components to tight tolerances
*
Plan setups, select tooling and machine small batch and one-off components
*
Work independently on late shift with minimal supervision
*
Carry out self-inspection using manual inspection equipment (CMM experience beneficial)
*
Work to high-quality standards within a precision engineering environment (AS9100 experience advantageous)
*
Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and housekeeping
*
Support the team where needed and share knowledge with less experienced operators
Skills & Experience
*
Strong background in CNC turning with Mazatrol programming essential
*
Good understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
*
Confident setting, proving out and running jobs independently
*
Experience producing high-precision components across a range of materials
*
Milling knowledge an advantage but not essential
*
A practical, reliable approach with pride in workmanship
Personal Qualities
*
Self-motivated and dependable
*
Comfortable working independently on a late shift
*
Positive attitude with a willingness to get stuck in
*
Ambitious, with the drive and “fire in the belly” to grow with the business over time
Opportunity
This role would suit an experienced CNC Turner looking for a stable, long-term position within a small team where their skill and experience are valued. For the right person, there is scope to develop into a broader role supporting production, mentoring others, and progressing into greater responsibility within the manufacturing team
