Hi, my name is Natalie Thorogood and I am the Community Team Manager for the North Team in our Children's, Families and Young Peoples Service.
We are looking for people interested in the Assistant Practitioner role in our Central Youth service. The service itself is a Community Mental Health Team for young people aged between 14 and 25 years old, staffed by a range of professionals across various disciplines.
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Assistant Practitioner to work within our team, to help deliver brief interventions to service users as well as their carers and families.
The role is a community based one with opportunity to travel to meet young people, but also will operate from 80 St Stephens Street, Norwich.
The working patterns are flexible, and we are happy to receive applications from those who want part time as well as full time.
Whilst experience working with children and young people would make you perfectly suited to this role, we are really open to welcoming people
from a variety of different backgrounds who have experience in other areas of mental health. We understand that you will be able to bring with
you a wealth of skills and experience to the team and would welcome ways of thinking.
We are looking for someone who has a passion for working with young people and their families.
The role of the Assistant Practitioner involves holding a caseload of young people aged 14-25 with a variety of different needs. You would work
closely with the multi-disciplinary team, which includes, Mental Health Nurses, Psychologists, Medics, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Family Therapists. You would deliver brief, focused intervention with some of your service users and others you would work alongside a more
senior member of staff.
You would have access to training, and the team have forums such as reflective practice, daily huddles and learning slots which means
you have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and access specific training in areas that interest you.
Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other. In addition to ongoing training and development opportunities, we are committed to providing an environment in which you can thrive.
