Job summary
This is a fixed term/secondment vacancy until 31/08/26. Due to Maternity cover.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day running of the Podiatry and Surgical Appliance Office, as well as meeting administrative tasks and delivering a quality service.
The role will also include:
1. Providing assistance to a supervising podiatrist in delivering complex podiatric treatments and administrative support where necessary.
2. Assisting the podiatrist with foot care and health promotion activities.
3. Handling telephone and written enquiries and complaints initially.
4. Dealing with urgent matters appropriately, following department procedures to record and follow up as necessary.
Main duties of the job
1. Supporting the administrative needs of the Podiatry and Orthotics Service, including using the Oracle procurement system and managing orthotic invoices.
2. Providing basic foot care to patients under the direction of Podiatrists and supporting the delivery of Podiatry services.
3. Booking and rearranging appointments for the Surgical Appliance/Orthotic department and Podiatry service as required.
4. Arranging patient appointments, including hospital transport if applicable.
5. Ensuring all clinics are at full capacity.
6. Processing all new applications appropriately.
7. Updating the clinical programme in response to staff sickness or absence, notifying patients of cancellations, and rescheduling clinics promptly.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Knowledge (Essential):
* Level II or equivalent administrative/office skills and knowledge
* Agored Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience
* Willingness to undertake in-house Podiatry assistant training
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including spreadsheets and databases
Experience (Essential):
* Experience working with clients individually
* Experience in a busy office environment
* Excellent word processing and spreadsheet skills
Desirable:
* Experience in healthcare settings
* Extensive experience dealing with the public, especially the elderly, face-to-face or via telephone
Other (Essential):
* Ability to travel across the Health Board area in a timely manner
Desirable:
* Welsh speaker (Level 1)
