Business Development Manager – Fabrication/ Machining
Our client is an established sub-contract medium to heavy engineering business with a long history and exciting plans to grow sales in strategic markets.
We are looking to strengthen our sales team by appointing an experienced and motivated business development manager to develop new and existing clients across a range of industries. Experience in one or more of the following is required: Nuclear, Oil and Gas, Subsea, Aerospace, Defence, Rail, or Yellow Goods.
This role will work alongside our existing bid team to grow sales in our market sectors. The Business Development Manager will play a decisive role in building and developing new and existing customer accounts, generating sales within the aerospace and general machining sectors, capitalising on the company’s reputation for engineering expertise and complementing our ongoing capital equipment investment plan.
The successful applicant will ideally have a medium to heavy engineering background. The role requires building business relationships with new and existing clients, producing detailed technical quotes by interpreting and understanding technical information supplied by clients, and communicating with clients to follow up quotes and seek further business opportunities. Experience in precision machining/fabrication and estimating is essential for this role. This position can be based at our sales office in Oldham or Sheffield, with a preference for Oldham. There will also be an element of nationwide travel and client visits to support these objectives.
As a company, we have a strong manufacturing capability and history, with over 160 years of manufacturing supported by two manufacturing sites in the UK.
