1. Comforting patients: Spend time talking to patients and reassuring those who may feel anxious or nervous.
2. Mealtime assistance: Help serve beverages, assist during mealtimes, and clear trays and cups afterward.
3. Keeping the ward organised: Restock shelves and trolleys to ensure everything runs smoothly for patients and staff.

Are you over 18 years old and ready to make a real difference in the lives of patients with complex neurological conditions? By becoming a Neurology High Care Ward Volunteer, you'll make a profound impact on the lives of patients during challenging times. This role offers the chance to build meaningful connections, be part of a dedicated team, and gain valuable experience in a caring environment.

Minimum requirements include:

1. A compassionate and friendly nature with a desire to help others.
2. Excellent communication skills to engage with patients who may have complex needs.
3. A proactive and reliable approach to support both patients and ward staff.

We have 300+ fantastic volunteers working hard to support the services that we deliver to our patients. As a Trust, we help look after 370,000 people in our local area and give specialist care to 1.5 million people across Lancashire and Cumbria.

Volunteering with us gives you the knowledge and sense of pride that every activity you do genuinely makes a difference to support our patients and staff, ensuring we keep thriving and delivering outstanding healthcare right across our local towns.

You'll have access to varied development opportunities, learn new skills, meet fantastic people, and do things you'd never have done. You'll learn about working in a hospital, interacting with people from all different roles to build skills. You'll make an impact, be challenged to think differently, be bold, and help innovate to keep improving things. Everything we do centres around patient care and enhancing their experience which means our volunteers are pivotal and something really to be proud of. Together, we can create a supportive space where every patient feels cared for and valued.
