Here at York CAMHS we provide assessment and interventions for our families of York that are experiencing mental health difficulties. As a Band 5 Nurse you will be expected to use your skills and knowledge in providing care as part of the large clinical team. You will become a "Key Worker" for families and be a point of contact to guide their recovery journey with us. You will be supported in assessing and managing risks with these families and must be able maintain a professional and caring approach in what can be difficult and challenging circumstances.

You will be expected to provide clinical support to the wider clinical team, so a good teamwork ethos and a friendly compassionate attitude is vital to compliment our service. We also value our partnership working so good communication and value in this is essential.

The post holder will be qualified as a NMC Registered Nurse from either the Mental Health, Children's, or Learning Disability specialisms.
This post is not open to Newly Registered Nurses, candidates must have their NMC registration in place and successfully completed the preceptorship programme in order to be considered.

1. Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council RNMH or RNLD (RNSC - CAMHS only )
2. To be recognised practice assessor / mentor or work towards in an agreed timescale
3. Trained Clinical Supervisor (within 6 month probationary period)
4. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Knowledge
Essential
5. Evidence based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field.
6. Understanding of relevant legislation (. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act)
7. Understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice
8. Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice
9. Clinical Governance and its application in practice.
10. Confident working knowledge of clinical medicines management, including administration of injections
